First, there was a phone call with the recruiter, and then an interview with the hiring manager. The interview itself was 30 minutes long and conducted over Zoom. The interviewer was 15 minutes late and apologized, explaining she could only stay for 15 minutes. Most questions were about my CV. She concluded by stating I lacked specific relevant experience, which I don't and haven't listed on my CV.

I applied online and had an initial recruiter call. After that, I was sent a HackerRank assignment. There were a total of 4 rounds. Once I passed the assignment, I had a technical interview covering Node.js, React.js, and a coding problem on HackerRank. Following that, there was a system design round, and then a technical/managerial interview at the office. The final round was an HR interview for salary negotiation, which also included some behavioral questions. The overall interview experience was good, and the HR team kept me updated on feedback promptly. However, after all rounds, I was informed that while I was a good candidate, others were a better fit due to their experience in the same domain as their product. I also realized during the managerial round that they were looking for someone with less experience, and I had more than required for the position. Given they knew my experience, domain, and salary expectations, it would have been better not to proceed with the interview process.

I had to do a take-home test which included sql, a/b test analysis, and insight analytics. They gave me the material beforehand for two parts. The tech interviews involved a lot of questions about my past experiences and why I did things, also some open problems. After that, I had to provide two recommenders and then a salary proposal.

So the typical process starts with a recruiter call, then you speak with the VP or hiring team. But after a few interviews, things got super weird with delays. I followed up and the recruiter gave me a really wild excuse for why nothing was moving forward, and then the VP/hiring team just ghosted me. Honestly, it's not that hard to be upfront with people, even if it's just to say the position is on hold. Major red flags, you know? Why bother with a company that clearly doesn't care and has no basic manners.
