The first interview was super quick. The second one was a bit longer but pretty easy. Once you're done with training, a manager will talk to you about the menu and how to cook steaks, and stuff like that. You'll have to memorize some things, but it's not too hard, and they'll show you exactly what you need to learn.

So the whole process was pretty quick and I had a good experience. First I talked to the direct manager, then on the same day I also talked to the general manager. The next day we got the paperwork done and I started the day after that.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

The whole process was super quick and friendly. I got an interview offer automatically because of my Darden's TAS online test score. Anyone scoring 70-100 on that test gets an email to call the restaurant and set up an interview with a manager. When I got there, they offered me a drink, shook my hand warmly, and apologized for the short wait. The manager mostly wanted to know my availability, how many shifts I could work, and my income needs (like average weekly tips). They asked me a bunch of questions about customer service, my experience, if I knew much about food/wine/cocktails, and my sales skills.

  • What's the distinction between service and hospitality, in your opinion?
  • Could you list four types of scotch?
