First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Dantech Corporation Inc..
Program Manager
The first part was a screening with an HR specialist. They wanted to make sure I got that the salary was set and couldn't be changed, and also that I met some basic requirements for the job, like being up-to-date on COVID shots, having the right amount of experience, living close enough to the office, knowing I'd have to be there daily on a set schedule, and understanding it was a 1099 contract role. After that, I had an online assessment with several sections: a personality test, a vocabulary test, a reading comprehension test, a spatial awareness test, and an analytical test. Finally, I had a live video interview.
- How would you respond to a given hypothetical situation by email?
- How would you respond to a given hypothetical situation verbally?
Cloud Engineer
I went through four interview rounds over three weeks and then they sent me the job offer contract. But the contract had a lot of issues, like contradictions, things that didn't match what they told me, and an illegal non-compete clause. I emailed them asking about these problems, and they called me back. They confirmed most of the issues were real and the contract shouldn't have been sent out. However, they said they weren't going to send a new one because of one small issue, and they were taking back the offer. The person on the phone was really passive-aggressive, and they accused me of being hostile, which I didn't think I was. It seemed like they didn't want someone who would ask these kinds of questions, even though communication was a big part of the interviews. It was a really confusing experience.
- What prior knowledge do you have about AWS?
Web Developer
The interview process included a first round over the phone, followed by a second round focused on coding. Both HR and the hiring manager asked technical and behavioral questions. The entire interview lasted about an hour and a half. Some questions didn't seem very related to the job itself.
- Could you build a front-end login interface using CSS and Bootstrap?
Developer
It was a really weird interview process, it started virtual and then became in-person. The virtual part was fine, but the in-person was a bit odd. They told me I apparently said something critical about the HR process during the virtual interview, which I don't remember. They also mentioned I should be prepared for long hours and even help with office cleanup. I was okay with all that. Then, after I left, I overheard them making fun of me from the hallway. When I got home, I got a job offer. I tried to negotiate the salary, but instead of a simple no, they said they were 'disappointed' and took the offer back. I don't understand why they would tell someone they're disappointed in them. It's a very strange thing to say. Honestly, I feel like I dodged a bullet with this company.
- Could you give a brief presentation on a subject of your choice?
