First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Dante International.
UX Designer
The interviewer seemed unprepared and unfamiliar with my resume. They focused heavily on coding and backend development, despite me clarifying that the role was for UX design. They presented design challenges without clear instructions or evaluation criteria, leaving me unsure of their expectations. My attempts to explain my design process were frequently interrupted or dismissed without constructive feedback.
- They asked about my background in coding languages and backend development, using terms I was unfamiliar with, and expected me to identify and fix a specific design issue they presented.
Data Scientist
The interview process was great. The HR person was professional. There was an HR interview and then a technical discussion with the team. The atmosphere felt professional, and the project sounded interesting. We had a really nice chat about the tech stack, algorithms, and my most challenging experience.
- Can you tell me about your current work?
- What technologies are you using?
- What algorithms are you employing?
Product Owner
The recruitment process was super unprofessional with huge delays between verbal acceptance and receiving a written offer. It felt like they were still interviewing other candidates and wanted to keep me on the hook just in case. I wasted a lot of time and energy and only got a weak apology after they ghosted me for weeks. My advice is to get the written offer immediately after passing interviews, otherwise your efforts are at risk! I had HR, technical, and upper management interviews, and everything seemed fine. HR said I'd get a written offer in 2-3 days, but then they ghosted me for two weeks. When I followed up, they gave a vague excuse about 'something came up' and offered to keep my CV on file. Since I have many years of experience, I agreed. Months later, another recruiter called about a similar role on the same team. We discussed budget, start date, and job details after calls with HR and the hiring manager. This time, HR promised the offer on Monday. Days passed, and when I called the recruiter, she said it would take a while. A few days later, the same recruiter called, sounding embarrassed, to say 'some situation came up' and apologized again. I was speechless at the unprofessionalism! I wasted hours and weeks dealing with this. Candidates, be aware and don't waste your precious time!
- Should we ask if you're okay with our unprofessionalism?
PHP Developer
So, the interview process is usually about 2 to 3 main stages. First, there's an HR Screening/Intro, which can be over the phone or video. They'll ask standard questions about why you want the job and your general behavior. You'll also talk about salary and company culture, and how your past projects fit with eMAG's size. Then, you might get a Technical Challenge or Take-Home Task. This is usually a short coding thing you do on your own, maybe taking 2-4 hours. It's often about using design patterns or working with databases. If it's a Senior role, they might ask you to design a small microservice or fix a performance issue. The last, and really important stage, is the Technical Interview with the Team Leads or Managers. It's a solid 60-90 minutes where they really dig into your PHP skills, system design, and how you solve problems. This is where things get tougher for most people.
- Which version of Symfony have you worked with?
