Manufacturing Engineer
Had a phone call with a recruiter, then another phone call with the supervisor. After that, I went in person for about 5 hours. We did a detailed tour of the manufacturing process and then I had several one-on-one interviews with the manufacturing manager, quality manager, head of operations, and some other engineers.
- Following the tour, what part of the manufacturing process interested you most and why?
Manufacturing Engineer
The interview process started with a phone interview which consisted of your general background questions. Three months later, I was contacted for an in person 3.5 hour interview which I felt went very well. The interview panel were friendly and laid back for the most part. I was told they would be making a decision within the week. Two weeks later and no word. None of their HR people respond to emails or calls. Very unprofessional and severe lack of communication. Can say that I will decline their offer if/when it happens as I have other employers to consider. Had previously declined an offer for a different position due to duties and shift times required and wasn't impressed with their HR handling but felt it was due to me being located 12 hours away.
- Regarding our previous offer, can you explain your decision to decline it?
Manufacturing Engineer
I was in touch with HR and the Tech supervisor who would be doing the interview. When I got there for the interview, a Manufacturing engineer greeted me. Then, I was introduced to the Tech supervisor, and both the supervisor and the ME interviewed me. Shortly after, the manager of the value stream joined us and asked me more questions, and also told me about the company's beginnings and vision. This was followed by a tour and a quick explanation of the duties I'd have if I got the job. We returned to the room, talked more, and I asked them some questions. Then they told me they would call me with an offer, and that was the end of the interview.
- Tell me about the biggest project you've ever worked on.
