First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Daiwa Capital Markets America.
Analyst
I had an in-person interview where I met directly with the managing director. Unexpectedly, there were no technical questions. Instead, we mainly discussed his current role and how he managed to get into investment banking.
- What made you interested in investment banking?
Analyst
Had about 4 to 5 face-to-face interviews where I met with every team member. The company was pretty quick with their response. Everyone I met was nice, and I enjoyed my time with most of the team and senior management.
- What makes you want to apply for this position?
Accounting
The interview was really laid-back. I chatted with HR for a bit, but it was mostly just small talk, no real questions. Then I met with the executive director. It honestly didn't feel like an interview because they only asked about my availability. I'm not sure how I performed or how they pick interns. They did take a while to get back to me about my application.
