Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at DAISO.
Retail Assistant
It was a pretty large group interview and happened pretty fast. We did basic introductions and then they asked the usual job interview questions, like why you want to work there. You'll find out super quickly if you got the job or not, but you might not get the shifts you want.
- Do you have prior retail experience?
Retail Assistant
First, there was a digital check-in where I had to enter my personal information and consent forms on an iPad. Then, the interviewer reviewed my resume in detail, asking about my work history, key accomplishments, and relevant skills. We also discussed specific experiences that align with the position requirements. Finally, I was asked some basic behavioral questions, and then I had a chance to ask my own questions about the role and salary.
- What makes you want to work for Daiso?
- How would you handle an unhappy customer?
Cashier
The interview process was very rude and pathetic. I went through 3 rounds but wasn't selected. The pay was unfair and management was really bad. They will threaten to say that if you are late, they will deduct your pay and all.
- Are you planning to get married soon?
