Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Dairy Queen.
Manager
It was an easy and comfortable interview with a friendly vibe. The interview was held in the store, which made the surroundings familiar. There were two people interviewing me. The manager presented some scenarios and let me respond. It was straightforward to answer, making the experience feel relaxed.
- Can you describe a situation where you had to handle conflict?
Assistant Manager
It was a pretty standard interview process. They asked about my past work, what I wanted to get out of joining the DQ team, and about my good and bad points. I thought it was kinda strange they asked if I had reliable transportation. I mean, I get they need to know you can get to work, but I'd be annoyed if they dinged me for not having my own car. It's not like I can't find a way to commute without one.
- Do you have reliable transportation?
Assistant Manager
I applied on Ziprecuiter.com and the next day the boss called to set up an interview. She wanted me to start on new years day but I had family visiting. So I started on the second. She was really very sweet and she knows her stuff. She is kinda intimidating but you can't help but love and admire her.
- Can you tell me about your past experiences?
- Do you own a car?
- Are you married or have a significant other?
