Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Dairy Farmers of America.
Quality Technician
The hiring manager was late to the interview and asked about a previous workman's comp issue from my last job, which I found inappropriate. Both the manager and supervisor seemed disengaged and unprofessional. About a week after, I emailed HR about my interview and was told that if I didn't hear back, I wasn't hired.
- Can you tell me about your previous employment experiences?
- What can you tell me about a workman's comp situation that occurred at your prior job?
Lab Technician
The interview process was pretty straightforward, conducted over the computer. They asked questions related to my previous work history and how well I understood the responsibilities of the Lab Technician position. Since I was applying to a smaller dairy operation that's part of DFA, the questions were tailored to that context.
- Do you work well in a team setting?
QA Technician
The initial phone interview was pretty standard and I felt good about it. After that, I was asked to come in for an on-site interview, but then they totally ghosted me. I tried calling them a bunch of times afterwards and got no answer. It was pretty disappointing.
- Can you tell me about your experience in the food and beverage sector?
