First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Dagger.
Paid Search Executive
The interview process was pretty straightforward and easy. They have a good company culture and clear expectations. There weren't too many steps involved. The main focus was on technical skills, and they wanted to confirm I understood the role's path and followed the necessary procedures.
- Can you elaborate on your technical proficiencies related to paid search?
- Tell me about your understanding of paid search best practices.
- How do you ensure you follow the rules and guidelines in your work?
Creative Director
First I had a phone screen, then I met with the initial team which consisted of 2 people. After that, I met with the CCO. The final interview was with the CEO. It was a really great process overall, and I enjoyed getting to meet many people and learn about the culture.
- Can you share your favorite work from your portfolio?
Copywriter
I had three interviews and was told I was the top candidate. The team seemed very communicative, respectful, and friendly. But after being told an offer was coming my way, I never heard from them again. I reached out a few times, but no one responded to me. I'm not upset that I was not offered the position, I understand that sometimes there is just a better candidate. I'm upset about the how. To completely ghost a candidate is highly unprofessional and disrespectful, especially when you were telling them that an offer is on the way and only delayed due to some team members being out of office. It is one thing when you don't hear back after just applying. But after weeks and rounds of interviews, it's another. Do the courtesy of telling someone they did not get the offer if you have spent their time during their work hours to interview with them. Dagger showed me that they do not respect me as a person, professional, or peer. If they do this to a potential candidate, I cannot imagine how they treat their employees.
- Tell me about a time you dealt with a challenging client.
Project Manager
It was a really smooth interview process. For the job I got, I first talked to the head of recruiting and HR. Then, I had two more interviews with the team I'd be joining at Dagger. The first one was with the people who would report to me, which was a good chance to meet and get to know my potential managers. After that, I met with the account directors for the client, which again gave me a better sense of the work and the people involved. Overall, it was a great experience from beginning to end.
- Depending on the industry you'll be working in, each interview will vary slightly.
