First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at DAF.
Montador
First, there was a presentation about the company, the work environment, the organizational culture, salary, and benefits. Then, a practical test in three stages was given to assess agility, attention to detail, and teamwork. Finally, an individual interview was conducted to align interests, verify competencies, discuss individual goals, and career objectives.
No confirmed questions were included in this interview report.
Purchasing Lead
The interview started with a chat with the hiring manager who seemed really interested in my past work at other companies, almost like getting free consultancy. After the interview, there was silence for weeks. When I followed up, I was told that DAF, being a Dutch company (which it's not anymore) and quite conservative, felt I wasn't a match. It was surprising to encounter such blatant racism, especially since the job description was in English and didn't mention any Dutch language requirement. It felt like they just wanted insider info from my previous jobs... pretty pathetic. I wouldn't recommend this company for foreigners or people focused on results.
- Can you tell me the specific details of project x from your previous company?
Intern
The usual procedure: first send CV, then wait to see if HR is interested in your profile. If both sides are interested, there will be a phone call, followed by an in-person meeting. During this meeting, there weren't too many technical questions. It was more about showing the reasons why this vacancy was chosen. Finally, if the manager is happy with the expertise and there's a good match in curiosity, the procedure is complete.
- What kind of experiences and previous projects have you gained with Data Science?
Quality Engineer
The interview process was alright, involving some technical questions but nothing too surprising given my background. They inquired about quality standards and past project examples. Ultimately, I turned down the offer due to salary expectations not being met.
- Could you share your experience with metrology?
- What are your thoughts on stamping quality control?
- Can you discuss your knowledge of quality standards?
