The recruiter was a bit late, showing up 7 minutes after the scheduled time. She proceeded to describe the role and inquired about my interpreting experience. Although the interview seemed to go well, she abruptly ended the call while I was still saying goodbye, leaving no room for further pleasantries.

I applied at a job fair and then got a call from the HR manager. They said I needed to get ready for a phone interview. The interview had 3 main parts: telling them about myself and my values, interpreting some common words and phrases from fields like medicine and finance, and a memory skills practice test. For the test, they give you a short story over the phone, and you have to take notes and interpret it closely. After that, they check your answer. Then, you'll get a lot of e-papers and documents to sign before the official onboarding. It takes about 2 weeks until you start your training.

  • Interpretation of some common words and phrases from different fields (medicine, financial etc.).
  • Practice test to check your memory skills. Take notes and interpret a short story via the phone.
