I applied for a principal software engineer role on the bluetooth software for the IoT team. The first interview was a phone call with the hiring manager, focusing on general technical topics. After that, I was invited for a face-to-face interview, which consisted of three separate discussions: one lasting 1 hour, another 45 minutes, and the last one for 1.5 hours. They really wanted to see production-ready code for every question, not just a basic logic or prototype. Honestly, the interviewers didn't seem very encouraging with their body language.

I applied online and after a few days got a call for a face-to-face interview. There were 4 rounds. The first was a face-to-face with a director, mostly technical, covering C, string programs, linked list questions, and bitwise manipulations. The second was a 'wolf pack' round with three people, testing patience by asking questions before I could answer the previous one. The third was face-to-face with a manager, focusing heavily on my previous work experience as detailed on my resume. The fourth was face-to-face with the division director, more of a chat about past work and the role. It took about 1-2 weeks to hear back about acceptance and another 2-3 weeks for the offer letter, making the whole process about a month and a half.

First there was an online test with aptitude and technical MCQs which were of average difficulty. After that, the shortlisted students had a face-to-face interview on the same day at their office. There were about 4-5 rounds that day, including technical and managerial rounds. The director round was planned for the same day but it got postponed because the manager was busy. We had to go to the office again two days later for the director round. In a pre-talk, the director mentioned he didn't care about our previous company or package, but then he asked questions about those during the interview. We were hoping for the results that day, but they said they need a week. Even after weeks, we didn't hear back. Our placement coordinator even emailed them, but still no response about the results. Finally, the director emailed saying they'll let us know if there's a match between their resources and our profile, and that they don't recruit just for the sake of it like other companies. This response came more than 3 months after the interview process. We only got a response because of the emails we sent; otherwise, don't expect any communication from them. Overall, the people arranging the interview panels were good, but the delay in announcing results, and only upon being asked, is unacceptable. Hopefully, they will improve and consider the job applicant's perspective, recruiting only when they genuinely need people who match their requirements, rather than conducting interviews and hiring no one.
