So first there was this aptitude test, 30 questions in 30 mins, and I had to write a statement of purpose which they used later. Out of like 100 students, only about 20 got to the first interview. That interview was pretty basic HR stuff, asking about my strengths, weaknesses, what drives me, a time I failed, and why I was interested in Cypress. The interviewer also gave me a simple puzzle which I managed to solve. Then they asked some technical questions about lean manufacturing, which was relevant to my industrial engineering background. After that, they asked if I had any questions for them. I got cut after this first round, but I heard the second round is similar, just with a different interviewer. The third round is just a quick chat between HR and the candidate to talk about salary and the job details.

To start, they had a shortlisting process based on CGPA >8, no work experience, and one undisclosed criterion. After that, we took an aptitude test with 30 basic common-sense and verbal aptitude questions to be solved in 15 minutes. There were negative marks for wrong or unattempted questions. The first interview was with the manager, focusing on general HR questions. The second round was a 'wolfpack' interview via Skype with 4-5 senior professionals. I also spoke with the business operations director. The questions covered SCM, Lean Production, Method Study, and Quality Control, and lasted about an hour. They also require two referrals and will only release the offer after checking references. The people were friendly and made us feel comfortable. Apparently, many employees at Cypress stay for a long time. It was a good interview overall.

So for the operations and supply chain team, they're hiring. First, there's a phone screen. Then, you go through about 3 to 4 manager rounds. Finally, there's a director round. If it's a more senior role, like manager or higher, the last interview is with a VP in the US.

  • Questions were mostly about supply chain.
  • Tell me about capacity management.
  • How do you handle inventory?
