The initial phone screen was pretty straightforward. The main parts of the Cypress interview involve two things: 1. Technical skills interviews: There are about 3-4 of these. They pose a lot of real-world problems related to their products, focusing more on your logical approach than finding the perfect solution. Then there's the wolfpack interview, which lasts an hour with three interviewers asking questions rapidly. This is designed to test your stress tolerance; it's perfectly fine to ask for time to think and to carefully construct your answers. This shows you have a good understanding of the technology and can handle pressure. 2. An interview with estimation questions: Think along the lines of 'how many gas stations are in SF?' or 'how many McDonalds are in the US?'. The key is to explain your thought process, ask clarifying questions to the interviewer, and collaborate with them to reach a well-reasoned answer.

My first interview was an in-person one in Bangalore with the technical director of product engineering. I had previously worked in the US in a semiconductor firm and was looking to return to India. However, this interview made me regret leaving my US job and coming back to this ridiculous work environment. The initial part of the interview was about my past experience, but my attempts to make it interesting fell flat. The director seemed more interested in weird personal questions related to my marital status and my parents' jobs. When I mentioned my mom's job transfer, he made an unnecessary comment about us all being in different places. He then looked at my resume and asked why I stayed with the same company for 5 years and why I didn't get a promotion. I was already done by then. Some basic VLSI questions followed, which I attempted. I knew it would be hard to impress him, but he claimed I needed time to prepare and asked how long I needed. I said 20 minutes, but he insisted I needed at least two weeks. I'm glad I got out after two more interviews. Now I'm very reluctant to go to Bangalore for any interview.

it was a two day process, first round was an online test (multiple choice +2 and -1), questions were on analog, digital and C programming. Shortlisted candidates were called for an interview, where there was a one on one interview focusing on VLSI, digital and analog.
