Cyber Operations Analyst
So the interview process usually starts with a recruiter chat where they cover stuff like pay, where you'll be working, if it's hybrid, and your work schedule. Then, there's a Zoom interview that checks your general IT knowledge, like terms and procedures in the field. Right after, they'll show you an alert and give you a bit of time to research it, figure out what happened, how bad it is, and how you'd handle it. If that goes well, you get a take-home assignment due in a week. This involves checking hashes on VirusTotal and doing a full static and dynamic analysis of some malware, then writing a detailed report. If they like your report, you'll have a final in-person interview to present your findings and explain your thought process. And of course, an HR chat to wrap things up and sort out the paperwork.
- Can you explain what XDR is and discuss the Cyber Kill Chain and other relevant industry terms?
- Given a sample alert from their XDR, can you explain the situation, assess its risk level, and outline your response strategy?
- Your take-home assignment will involve analyzing malware and documenting your findings in a report.
Product Manager
The Cynet recruiter reached out on LinkedIn. After setting up the first meeting, things moved really fast. The recruiter stayed in touch at every step. Beyond the first meeting, there were 4 more interviews plus an assignment. I had 24 hours to get it ready and then presented it on-site to the Product Director and R&D Director. It was a professional and time-respecting experience. The recruiter kept me updated, and the interviews were thorough but quick. Overall, the Cynet interview process was positive and well-organized.
- Can you compare your skills and abilities to those of the product team members at your former company?

The conversations were conducted at eye level, creating a comfortable and open dialogue. Overall, the process was thorough yet balanced, giving a well-rounded understanding of both technical abilities and leadership capabilities.
- How can you effectively lead a developer who doesn't report directly to you?
