It was a pretty simple and direct interview process. It started with a recruiter call that was about 30-45 minutes long. The recruiter asked me some questions, and I also got to ask them a few questions.

The interview process included two interviews. The first was supposed to be a 20-minute video screening, but the interviewer didn't show up. They later apologized via email and rescheduled. The second interview also started late, with the interviewer seeming disorganized and uninterested, creating an uncomfortable atmosphere. This lack of professionalism and apparent disorganization raised concerns about the company's culture and processes.

Started with a 30-min screen call with HR. Then there was a 45-min panel interview with two PMO leads. The 3rd round was a panel interview with three people who seemed unprepared and didn't know why they were there or what to ask. They even admitted they hadn't seen my resume. The head of PMO was absent, and the meeting was delayed a week, which felt like they were waiting to interview the chosen candidate. One interviewer was a Program Manager clueless about program management. Another was a Technologist who knew nothing about AI beyond Copilot, stating the company was small, disorganized, and had messy technology. The last one was an IT person who barely asked anything. I felt it was better to be rejected earlier than waste time on this sham interview. The company and its staff's knowledge are questionable.

So, there were two rounds for this interview. First up was HR, and then the final round was with the hiring managers. It was pretty weird, though. When the interviewers in the final round joined, they didn't even introduce themselves. They just straight up started talking about how the interview would go. That was a bit of a red flag. As we kept talking, they mentioned that each consultant handles about 4-5 projects and then moves on once the product is out. This made me question how effective their change management program is if they don't stick around to see if the adoption is actually working. I asked how they gather lessons learned after a product is deployed, and they said the CM team doesn't do it, but the PM team does. The hiring manager then said there were processes she wanted to put in place but hadn't had the time. Hearing this, I asked about the Team Lead role, thinking it would be a chance to develop the CM practice. But she told me she'd need to check with the recruiter about the interview process for that. This whole thing felt like they're just looking for people to jump on projects, not someone who can actually improve the team's capabilities.
