The interview process had friendly people and friendly questions. It's a good idea to practice answering common interview questions beforehand. There were two rounds after an initial screener.

I was contacted by Cyberspace recruiter via email. We set up a phone interview which was a really chill 10-15 minute chat about my work history and my preferences for roles and locations since they had a few open. After I told them what I was looking for, they sent me an email with a job application and a resume template form that the government agency customer would use to screen my resume. I completed and sent it the next day. Cyberspace passed it along to the customer, who wanted an on-site interview in Fayetteville, NC. Cyberspace helped me schedule a date that worked for me and the customer, and they sorted out travel, an overnight hotel, and a rental car. The hiring manager gave me a rundown on the customer's interview process and what to expect. The government customer had about 4-5 folks in the room who asked me questions about my work experience, the technologies I've used, projects I've worked on, and tough situations I've faced as an analyst.

The interview process was thorough but respectful. The questions were knowledgeable and directly related to the subject matter. I think the interview lasted about 30 minutes in total. They asked questions about leadership and personality, plus my professional experience.

The interview was a phone call, it felt informal but they asked a lot about job performance, expectations, and salary. It was professional but felt relaxed and wasn't rushed. The interviewer seemed engaged with my answers and asked follow-up questions. No simple yes/no questions were asked.
