Sales Engineer
It involved several phone interviews (this was during COVID19), and I spoke with a few managers and directors. I had to do a technical walkthrough using a guide that they provided for setup, and also demo a software that I chose. The whole process took quite a while.
- Can you describe your thought process?
- How do you approach customer demo situations?
- Explain the setup process for the software.
Sales Engineer
I applied online and got a quick response from the recruiter the next day. First, there was a phone screen, then I talked to the hiring manager who asked about my background and some questions about security and Active Directory. After that, a senior sales engineer went into more detail about security. Once those technical chats were done, I met with the territory manager and some local Account Executives. They asked how I'd deal with clients who have particular needs or are tough to work with. Then, I looped back with the hiring manager to set up the date for a tech challenge. On the day, I gave a demo to a group of SEs and AEs. The recruiter let me know an offer was coming, pending a background check. After passing that, I accepted.
- Can you describe your background with Active Directory?
- What's your experience with Active Directory?
- Can you tell me about your experience in security?
Sales Engineer
Got set up for interviews by an agency. First up was a Skype call, so make sure your tech is good for that, first impressions matter. This first chat was just with the Presales manager. Moved on to the next stage, which was in person. It started with the Presales Manager for about half the time, then a Sales Account Manager joined in for a bit to ask some sales-focused questions. The whole thing took about 1.5 hours. Didn't get any feedback afterwards.
- What can you tell me about CyberArk's competitors?
- Can you walk me through your resume and background?
- Imagine a customer is telling a significant untruth; how would you address that scenario?
