The whole process took about two months and had 6 interviews plus an online assessment. First, I had a screening interview with a recruiter. The next week, I did the assessment and then had a second interview with the VP, then a third with a peer. Then a fourth interview with a C-level exec. After that, it was hard to get updates, I didn't hear back from the recruiter for more than two weeks. I reached out to the recruiter by email and the hiring manager on LinkedIn, which got me another interview with a different C-level exec. The week after, the recruiter let me know they were moving on with another candidate but offered to connect me with a VP from another team. I accepted the referral and met with that VP, expecting an update in two weeks. Sadly, I was later told there wasn't a headcount for the role. Throughout the whole thing, I never got feedback on any interviews and it was tough to get a hold of the recruiter for any info.

In April 2024, I applied for an Account Executive role at Cyara. The process started well. I had a good screening call with the recruiter, then an interview with the hiring manager. The hiring manager seemed to want to move forward, but then there was silence. I followed up with the recruiter twice, but never heard back about my application status. It was unprofessional not to communicate. Companies should have professional and efficient recruitment processes. Hopefully, sharing this helps Cyara improve for others.

The job descriptions on the portal are kinda inconsistent with what hiring managers expect, and the recruiters and hiring managers aren't on the same page, which is confusing for candidates. It would be great if the recruitment team could make sure the job descriptions are clear and that recruiters know enough to give good info. Getting recruiters and hiring managers to agree is super important so candidates really know what the job is about. Fixing these things would make the whole candidate experience way better.

Behavioral Presentation

I put in my application online and a third-party recruiter reached out to me the very next day. He was really detailed, gave me more information about the role, and asked me some pointed questions about my background. After that conversation, I already had a really good feeling about the company and the job. Then, I had two more interviews. The first one was with the hiring manager, and it felt pretty conversational and laid-back. The last interview involved giving a presentation to the VP and the hiring manager. After the presentation, they asked some follow-up questions and wanted more clarification on my overall experience. The whole thing went pretty fast and without a hitch. They kept me in the loop at every stage, and everyone I interacted with was super pleasant. I felt like I wanted to join Cyara pretty much right away.

Cyara Interview Questions

Quoted word for word from Cyara interview reports.

Explain the number of dates in a year that are ambiguous between the Australian format (e.g., 4th Oct 2010 as 4/10/2010) and the US format (e.g., 10/4/2010). Also, write a sample SQL insert statement for a single date field that prevents this ambiguity.
