Travel Consultant
This was a pretty standard interview process. Given my 14 years of experience, I've worked with many different clients, handled various cultures, and navigated different travel policies, even through economic downturns.
- Can you describe your background in customer service?
- What's your general understanding of the information we provide?
Travel Consultant
I had to wait nearly an hour after the scheduled interview time. During that time, I noticed concerning micromanagement among the staff. The interview had three people, with one joining by phone. They asked questions that were really like 5-6 smaller questions bundled into one, and they were quite harsh and unwilling to clarify when I asked. They didn't seem to appreciate my questions about the company and appeared threatened by intelligent inquiries; if they didn't know the answer, they were impolite and brushed me off. After 45 minutes of feeling frustrated and seeing what was clearly a hostile work environment, I decided to end the interview.
- Can you tell me about your strengths and weaknesses, and how you deal with challenging customers?
Travel Consultant
It felt pretty chill, not too many people. I talked with two branch managers and one division manager. They started with some standard questions, then it got more like a regular chat. I think they really want to see what kind of person you are and if you'd fit in with the team.
- Could you describe your past experience in the travel industry?
- Can you share details about your previous roles and responsibilities?
- What kind of travel consulting have you done before?
