I talked to the recruiter first. Then I had an interview with the director and a 2-hour interview with the hiring manager. The hiring manager wanted me to come in for an in-person interview. I spent almost $1000 on my flight, hotel, and Ubers. They said I'd be reimbursed, but then they ghosted me and I never got any money back. I wouldn't recommend interviewing or working here because the company is struggling right now.

The interview was technical, really digging into my expertise. The interviewers were super friendly and professional though, which made it easy to talk about my skills. They seemed to be looking for someone who really fit the role's requirements, and I felt good about my potential contribution.

I interviewed in two different states with this company after a referral from a friend/current employee who could vouch for me. Both times, recruiters took about 4 weeks to contact me initially, didn't let me ask any questions in the first round before ending the call, and then ghosted me. Interviews go both ways, and it's important for candidates to ask questions as much as it is for interviewers. I'll never consider another interview offer from a company that treats people this poorly from the start.

I had a phone call with the hiring manager where we discussed salary expectations. My expectations were a bit higher than their budget, but they said they would see what they could do. Later, I confirmed my minimum salary needs with the recruiter when arranging an onsite interview. Cutera covered my travel expenses for the onsite, which involved a flight and hotel I booked myself. After the interview, I got an offer, but the total compensation was less than my minimum salary. I declined the offer because of the pay. I submitted my expense report for reimbursement in May 2022, but after several follow-ups, I still haven't been paid back as of October 2022. Given how the company handled this, making me pay upfront for travel for an interview where we seemed to be on the same page about salary, and then not reimbursing me, I'd suggest others think twice about working here. If this is how they treat you before you're even hired, imagine how it is as an employee.
