First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Customized Energy Solutions.
Software Engineer
The interview process was pretty standard and involved 5 people. There were 2 tech folks, 2 business/operations people, and 1 VP. It all went down at the Philadelphia office, which is in center city. The whole thing took about 2-3 hours.
- Can you explain SDLC?
- What are your thoughts on Agile methodologies?
- Do you have experience with SQL?
Manager
HR Manager usually sets up the interview, but the team Manager leads the discussion. It's more of a conversation and encouraging back-and-forth between the panel and candidates.
- Can you tell me about your previous experience?
- How does your past experience relate to the role you're applying for?
Senior Java Developer
I went through two rounds of interviews. The first round focused on Agile processes and included some technical questions. The second round was entirely technical, with about 30-40 questions covering Java, REST, databases, EJBs, Threads, and more. The same interviewer conducted both rounds. I'm not sure why I was rejected, but it was unexpected. The interview level was good and my answers were accurate.
- Tell me about Java.
- Tell me about REST.
- Tell me about databases.
QA Analyst
The first round was a deep dive into my technical background and knowledge. The second round focused on setting expectations for the role and a general chat.
- How do you show initiative within a team?
- What's your approach when you have limited support or input?
- Can you describe the software testing process?
