I applied for a Director IT role and was rejected after a lengthy and poor process. I have the same title as my previous job and am highly qualified. I waited ten days without hearing back, so I contacted two internal recruiters for an update but received no response. A week later, I followed up again, still with no reply. After almost four weeks, I contacted a different recruiter who was helpful enough to pass my inquiry to the assigned recruiter. They assured me I would hear back shortly. However, less than ten minutes later, I got an automated rejection email, and the job was removed from their website. It seems the role was either filled internally or the headcount was canceled. Regardless, there's no justification for such poor candidate treatment, especially after I invested time and effort to express my interest and seek an update. It's basic courtesy. I inquired about why I wasn't shortlisted given my resume's strong alignment with the job description (94% ATS match), but unsurprisingly, I received no feedback.

Total Rewards Associate

I had a decent call with the recruiter about the Total Rewards Associate position. I made sure to say I was really interested because I want to focus on Total Rewards and explained how my background fits. The only thing was, the recruiter didn't seem super into it or engaged from the beginning. I figured maybe she was just tired or not feeling my application. Plus, she totally ghosted me after the phone screen. No follow-ups, no news, nothing. It was a pretty bad candidate experience. As someone senior in talent acquisition, I'd expect the interviewer to actually know about candidate experience.

First, I submitted my application. Then, there was an initial HR screening where we talked about my qualifications and if I'd be a good fit. After that, I had a more in-depth interview with the Hiring Manager (who is a VP) to check my technical skills, see if I'd fit in with the company culture, and gauge my potential for growth here.

The interview process kicked off with a quick, personal phone screen conducted by the CoreBTS recruitment team. Following that, I had an in-person interview where I met with the hiring manager and key team members all at once. They asked questions that were reasonable and focused on assessing if I'd be a good personality fit. It felt more like a casual chat with a few technical questions thrown in.
