Product Manager
The recruiter was communicative and supportive, and I had engaging conversations with the product and engineering teams. However, the final bar-raiser interviewer unexpectedly introduced new job requirements that would have disqualified me earlier in the process. All the negative feedback was related to this interviewer and these new requirements. The process involved two lengthy and complex uncompensated assignments, with the second one being a surprise as the recruiter had only mentioned one. While the company states they have a clear, human process with no gotchas, there's a lack of overall oversight to ensure consistent interviewer evaluations. It seems internal politics play a role, potentially derailing strong candidates. It felt like too much effort for an uncertain outcome.
- Could you describe your usage of AI in the take-home assignment, and also in your regular work?
- How do you incorporate AI into your daily tasks and in the take-home assignment?
Content Marketing Manager
So I had a recruiter screen, then spoke with the hiring manager, after that I did a take-home assignment which took a few hours, and finally there was a panel interview. It was like, these people were nice and seemed to actually care during our chats. The whole thing was also pretty organized on the surface and moved fast, which at first felt good. But yeah, I went through a bunch of interviews: recruiter, hiring manager, a take-home that took up a whole weekend, and a panel interview. They kept saying they were 'far into the process' and 'wanted to decide fast.' I even juggled my schedule to fit them. After all that time and work, I got nothing back. No rejection, no updates, just radio silence. If you're gonna make candidates jump through hoops, especially on a tight deadline, at least have the courtesy to follow up, even if it's a 'no.' How you treat people matters, and silence really shows how much you respect their time.
- Can you share your background with account-based marketing?
People Specialist
I had a really great interview for the People Specialist job at Customer.io. The whole process was clear, friendly, and engaging from start to finish. My recruiter was super nice and knew their stuff, making me feel comfortable. Everyone I talked to was really listening and knew what they were looking for. It felt like they actually looked at my background and cared about our chats. I especially liked how they kept me updated on what was next. It was a fantastic experience that shows off their company culture and how much they care about candidates.
- Can you share an instance where you utilized technology to overcome a challenge?
Front End Engineer
Applied online, waited a few weeks, then got an email for an interview with an engineering manager. Had 3 interviews total. First was a quick intro with an engineering manager. Then a technical interview with a tech lead. Can't recall all the questions, but they were relevant to daily tasks. They showed code and asked for implementation or improvement ideas. It was challenging but made me think. Soon after, I got a homework assignment, any framework was fine. It was well-explained, covering what to do and what they looked for. The cool part was being able to schedule the next interview right after submitting, meaning they'd review it and I'd discuss it. The final interview was with a front-end engineer and a project manager. Since the homework was detailed, there weren't many questions on it. It was a pleasant chat, and I got to ask my questions. A few days later, an engineering manager called with an offer. This was the best interview process I've had.
