First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Curves International.
Instructor
Interview was fast, got the offer the same night. They sponsored training. Good experience, you can try to be an instructor even without experience.
- Can you tell me about your weaknesses and strengths?
Packer
The interview lasted about 20 minutes and involved pre-set questions. I was interviewed by two people, and it felt pretty intimidating. I thought it went well at the time, but looking back, I think they had already made up their minds about me before I even sat down. Most interviews are conducted in both French and English, but even though I'm an anglophone who can speak French well, none of the questions were in French.
- Did you receive any awards during your past jobs?
Circuit Coach
The interview process was intense and required me to highlight my unique qualifications and provide detailed explanations of my past experiences. The interviewer was not particularly friendly and mentioned she would follow up within a few days, but I never heard back even after two months. I would not suggest applying for this position due to the low salary, which does not align with the job responsibilities including selling memberships and working reception, all for less than the hourly wage of most commercial gyms.
- What motivates your interest in working for Curves?
- What information do you have regarding Curves?
Manager
The interview process felt welcoming and not at all stressful. If you're familiar with muscle groups and have experience with training, this would be an ideal role. The workouts are already planned out and fixed. Their understanding of business theory is strong. The training program covers all necessary information. Their procedures are very precise. There's some memorization and a good amount of reading involved initially. Once you're familiar with Curves, the job becomes very enjoyable.
- What's your approach to dealing with a dissatisfied client?
