Behavioral Case Presentation

I reached out to the CEO for an intro to the Curve Product and was invited to apply for a Senior PM role. The process lasted nearly 2.5 months mainly due to the Christmas break. I found the process refreshingly different to other interview processes mainly because of the talent team, Vinny and Dan, and the product team. The talent team made sure that I was prepared for each interview round and gave me detailed feedback promptly. The product team was focused on understanding my product sense while also explaining how the Curve products work. The process included a case study presentation which was based on my previous work and unlike other companies was not fishing for ideas! The process was as below: Initial chat with Talent team --> Interview with Hiring Manager --> Case study presentation and Q&A with Senior PM --> Interview with Designer, Group PM, Business stakeholder --> Interview with CEO + Head of Talent --> Offer discussion.

Behavioral Technical Case Presentation

So I had a recruiter call first, then an on-site interview for about an hour with a senior PM. I asked the recruiter if I needed to prepare anything and they said it would just be a casual talk about Curve and what they're looking for. First of all, this was not the case, as it was a full on PM interview, including a whiteboard exercise and quite intense probing on questions about business models, the go-to market strategies I'd implement for certain products etc. It also stretched to over 1.5hours. So that was quite unexpected, but okay - always come to an interview prepared for anything. The worst part about the process however is that I was told I'd hear back the next day and now it's been over 3 weeks and they've disappeared. I emailed the recruiter a few days after my interview to get an update and my email returned a 'this email address no longer exists' auto-reply. I then tried to reach out someone else I'd been in touch with from Curve, yet didn't get a response. I understand that some companies don't get back to candidates, but if you invite someone for a personal 1.5h on-site and tell them you'll get back to them within a couple of days, the least you can do is send an automated rejection email and not disappear from the earth.

The recruiter was upfront that if they had another candidate who performed as well, they'd choose them because I would need visa sponsorship. This was a strange thing to bring up and it spoke volumes about the company's culture. I decided to withdraw my application after this call.
