Project Manager
My interview was supposed to start at 10 AM, but upon arriving, I was told Sergeant was in a meeting. I could see him in a glass cubicle talking to someone. I was called into the office at 11:04 AM. He asked me general questions about my past jobs and then talked about his experience in construction. He mentioned they don't do schematic design, design development, or permitting here. It's a boutique shop where they use furniture from a Chinese catalog and place it on architect-provided plans, without moving walls. They create space plans. They use "ketchup" for modeling furniture and 3ds max for rendering hotel rooms (100-150 sq ft) used in catalogs for renting out. The red rings are set to fish islands (15-25 mm). During the interview, he left me for 20 minutes with an employee who showed me his work on their rendering farm.
- Do you own a house? Because that implies you have a mortgage, which you should consider.
Graphic Designer
The interview started off pretty standard, but then it got real unprofessional. The director/owner was really vulgar. He liked my portfolio, but it seemed like he didn't want to pay the going rate for my experience. He also gave me a take-home project and promised to pay me for it, which never happened. I tried to follow up, but nobody would talk to me. Honestly, glad I didn't get the job, it seemed like a terrible place to work. Everyone in the office looked miserable and stressed.
- He asked if I could give their company a more modern look.
Sales Position
I recently interviewed with them and while I don't think I got the job, the interview experience itself was great. The people were great, the atmosphere was great, and they showed me opportunities for growth within the company. I'd say they're doing a good job with their interview process, even if not everyone is happy with the outcome. Their employee turnover rate is low, and they carefully select future employees based on their outstanding backgrounds. It's a well-respected company with high standards for who they hire, so you'd be working with many successful people and have the chance to learn from those who were once in your shoes. If you get the chance to interview or work here, take it and see for yourself. Don't miss out because of someone else's experience.
- How would you handle a difficult customer?
Designer
I applied online through Indeed or a similar job board. I've applied about 5 times over the last 2 years. I've interviewed in the office three times, each time with different people and from different departments. They seem really busy and in need of hiring people, but they haven't been able to finish the hiring process. I'm getting tired of going through interviews and not getting any follow-up or response to my calls and emails.
- Tell me about your computer program skills and your background using them.
