The interview was very unprofessional. The interviewer rescheduled the conference call two hours after it was supposed to start, which was only 10 minutes before it was scheduled. I went to the office for the rescheduled call, planning to skip lunch. When the call finally happened, the interviewer rudely commented on my location (my car) and insisted I move outside into the heat. After 20 minutes of the interviewer talking about himself, he started asking questions. Some questions included asking about a 'hole' in my work history, specifically the time taken to get a degree, and my current salary. More time was spent discussing company acquisitions than the role itself. Throughout the call, the interviewer frequently said 'I did not hear that! Please repeat?' despite my good phone service. I used to respect this company, but I no longer do. I would advise waiting a few years before considering a serious position with them.

Behavioral Technical Coding

I interviewed for a Software Engineer, React role. It was a standard all-day interview, but with the cool part of getting to talk to the CTO and CEO. The difficulty can be adjusted to your comfort level. If you're confident in your skills for the role, especially on the technical side, you'll be fine. They don't ask a ton of standard algorithmic questions, but a deep understanding of React, Javascript, and related libraries/methodologies (like SCSS, SASS, Redux) is crucial. There were many behavioral questions, not just simple ones, but scenarios where you had to explain what you would do or did do, which can be tough because you need to come up with examples on the fly. Since Curse is now part of Twitch and the Amazon family, knowing Twitch Core Values and Amazon Leadership Principles is helpful. If you're into gaming, you'll have a good time. My chat with the CEO was almost entirely about gaming and streaming, which was super enjoyable. I didn't get the offer because I lacked professional Javascript experience, despite having personal project experience and building production-level apps with React and React-Native. That was unfortunate! But the interview experience itself was awesome; you'll like it. Be confident about the skills needed and show you can be a team player. Expect some behavioral questions. You'll be good to go.

Technical Coding Behavioral Presentation

I got contacted on LinkedIn and after a quick chat, I had an HR phone screen. Then, I was given a code test: build a roster with teams and stats using MVC and LINQ2SQL, covering basic CRUD. A week after submitting it, they invited me for an onsite. They flew me out and covered my hotel. The interviews ran from 10 to 3, with different team members. I had lunch with non-managers and dinner with the hiring managers for the two open roles. I asked about the work-life balance, and they confirmed that if a patch goes out at 10 PM, you need to be online and working by 10:05 PM. This really put me off, and I think it's why I didn't get an offer, even though my technical parts were good and the questions were easy. The President of Media even dropped the F-bomb during my interview, which was a bit unprofessional.
