First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Cupertino Union School District.
Special Education Teacher
The hiring process was quick, wrapping up in about a week. Most communication happened via email. I had two interviews with the direct supervisor. The application had to be submitted through edjoin. The salary offered is competitive compared to other districts in the area. Honestly, the process felt pretty standard, nothing too out of the ordinary.
- Tell me about how you approach conflict resolution and collaborating with teachers.
Behavior Technician
The interview process was pretty standard. They asked 12 basic questions and were very open to my questions. I heard back promptly about an offer. Even though I had a lot of experience, they offered the lowest salary in the pay range. Overall, it was a good hiring experience. They do have a test to filter out candidates who aren't serious about the position.
- How do you ensure a good working relationship with your supervisor?
Teacher
It was a two-round Zoom interview process. They were a bit slow to respond, but it was a good experience overall. The same interviewer conducted both interviews. The first round covered general work experience, my interests, and some about me questions. The second round involved job-specific technical questions.
- Can you describe how you would manage a scenario where a student with dyslexia is struggling to keep up with the class?
ABA Therapist
Had a good interview with upper management, then there was testing with the district. It was pretty laid back. They were very open to my schedule and flexible in helping me find dates that worked for both of us.
- What are your strengths?
- Describe what you would do in situation a.
- Describe what you would do in situation b.
