The interview process for this Account Manager role was really outdated and confusing. The job was posted under different titles like Client Relationship Manager, Account Manager, and Leasing Officer. The first call was with a peer who couldn't provide much useful information. The second call was with the hiring manager and was standard. Then, I was asked to come in for an hour to meet with the hiring manager and assistant GM, which was a standard face-to-face interview. After that, they gave me a small paragraph with 20+ errors and asked me to edit it. Later that week, I was asked to come back for a WRITTEN test, described as a 'Simple writing exercise' about a fictional client and their lease, supposedly to evaluate problem-solving, client relations, and writing skills. I went in, was given a pad, calculator, and put in a cubicle for an hour to complete an intricate assignment that was confusing and didn't make sense, especially since the job posting said commercial real estate experience wasn't required. They told me I missed the mark and asked if I was comfortable with math, which felt irrelevant. After that, they asked more questions about my endeavors. I provided references, and they were all called before an offer stage. They even mocked one of my references. I felt confused and upset by how candidates were treated. Two days later, I was told they were going with someone with more CRE experience.

Talked with the division manager first, they gave an overview of what the day-to-day work is like and talked about company policies. Then had an in-person meeting with the field manager who asked about my previous experience. Got a phone call with an offer a few days after that. Went in for an in-person screening after verbally accepting the offer.

I had a phone, zoom, and in-person interview. They had me come into the office, which has a great environment to be and work in. The people there are very friendly and open to new employees.

I applied on Friday and was invited in the following Monday for a quiz and an interview. Later that week, I was asked to come back for a second round. This round involved doing actual work and meeting more people. I was rejected that same day, with the feedback that while they liked my background, they felt I wouldn't be a good fit for their non-standard environment. They did mention they felt they may have warned me about the environment.
