Customer Success Manager
Had an initial screen, then an interview with the hiring manager, and a task. They were really transparent and positive, telling you exactly what they'd ask and setting you up for success. Can't fault the process; wish other employers did the same.
- Tell me about how you can add value.
- How would you approach things differently?

The interview process was really bad, especially since they claim to be a culture-first company. I had my first interview with Talent, and they told me not to be late. I joined the Zoom call 10 minutes early, but the interviewer didn't show up and only sent an excuse via email 5 minutes after the meeting was supposed to start. For the rescheduled interview, the Talent interviewer was 15 minutes late with another excuse. They said I'd hear back by EOD about the next stage, but I had to follow up myself after days of silence. I then got the date for the next interview, which included a link to a written assessment. My next interview was with the hiring manager, who was also late and said they weren't planning to interview me unless the Talent manager insisted. After that, I heard nothing for two weeks, and then got an email saying they chose someone else. Talent claimed they tried to call me, which is untrue. They asked for feedback, so here it is. I wanted to share this to show the gap between their advertised culture and the reality. I'm comparing this to another company's process, which was amazing – respectful, proactive, and punctual. I've accepted a role there and recommend people prioritize company culture and people, as you can find much better than Culture Amp.
- Can you introduce yourself, tell me why you are interested in working at Culture Amp, and what our values are?
- Tell me about yourself, why you want to work for Culture Amp and what are our values?

I did a 30 minute recruiter screening call, a homework assignment that I was told was "Great! I would use these responses myself!", a 45 minute hiring manager zoom call, then I had to prepare a presentation which I was specifically told "met all of the requirements", followed by a 45 minute panel interview and then an additional 45 minute interview with 2 more employees. After being encouraged and told every single step of the way that "we really like your experience", to then find out this evening with a generic email that they will not be moving forward with me but I can ask for feedback. So of course I want feedback! I invested a lot of time, and heart into this interview process so what went wrong? I was told by the recruiter that, "there were stronger candidates", "I didn't have real SaaS experience", and "I told "stories" rather than direct answers"........ First of all, I have worked for a SaaS company for almost 2 years. Secondly, saying there were "stronger candidates" is not feedback and if that was true, why put me through the exaggerated interview process? Don't offer feedback if you cannot provide it. And thirdly, how on earth is someone supposed to answer a "Tell me about a time when...." question without telling a story?? I feel wholeheartedly misled by the company, extremely disappointed in your interview process, and that you all wasted a lot of my time.
