Account Executive
The interview process had a few stages, starting with a recruiter screen, then a meeting with the hiring manager, and finally another interview. I really liked the interview process until the last one, because everyone I met before then was great. But the final round was a really bad experience. The interviewer was super rude, kept cutting me off and correcting me without actually listening to what I was saying about my past work. She kept smirking and acting like she was better than me the whole time. It felt like she was on a power trip. She smirked every time I talked, which felt really condescending. I know it's an employer's market right now, but I still have options and it was a really negative experience. After all the work they asked me to do, her behavior was not okay and made me not want to work for Culture Amp. Definitely not interested anymore. I won't work for a company that treats people like that. I expect to be respected at work, this is a bad sign for the future, and I can find a job somewhere else.

Enterprise Account Executive
The initial interviews (1-4) were good, but the final one (5th) was problematic. The recruiter assigned a task: prepare and present a sales pitch for a past product to a panel, including creating a slide deck with an agenda. I found this unusual for an enterprise sales call, which are typically informal. I sent the deck to the recruiter in advance but didn't get responses to my clarification questions. I mentioned the unclear instructions at the start of the interview and asked for consideration. I wasn't given the company size, which is crucial for enterprise sales. When I asked, they said '250 employees,' which isn't enterprise-level. This, along with the incorrect instructions, was confusing. I focused on establishing credibility, identifying decision-makers' interests, uncovering pain points, and proposing tailored solutions by asking questions like 'Help me understand why you are here today?', 'What are the challenges you are experiencing?', 'How are you doing things today and what negative impact is that having on the business?', and 'How would you like to be doing things in an ideal world and what positive impact would that have on the business?'. I also mentioned involving other team members like Sales Engineers, as instructed. One panelist cut me off during my closing statements, which felt disrespectful. The feedback I received was that I seemed to be bragging, that the pitch was too transactional instead of agenda-driven (despite the instructions), and that I talked too much about bringing in other people (also per instructions). They said they'd decide later. A few hours later, the recruiter informed me I wasn't moving forward, citing failure to uncover pain points, which I believe I did. It felt like I was set up to fail due to internal miscommunication, which is unfortunate after four good interviews. If you interview for this role, make sure to clarify everything and bridge communication gaps. Fortunately, I had other offers from companies with clearer processes.
- The questions were mostly a mock pitch with faulty instructions provided beforehand.
Account Executive
This interview process took about two weeks and was overall fantastic. The recruiter was super helpful, keeping me in the loop and ready for every stage. It started with a phone screen with the recruiter to go over my background, the role, and Culture Amp's culture. Next, I had a 30-minute chat with the hiring manager, where she asked about my interest in Culture Amp and my suitability for the team. Following that, I did a presentation about a product or service I'd previously sold to a panel of three team members. Then, I met with two current Account Executives for some quick questions and dedicated time for my questions. The final step was a 30-minute interview with the VP of Sales. I actually got an offer the same day! The whole experience was great, and they made me feel really comfortable throughout.
