The interview process started with an initial admin and theory stage, involving a Tacho card download, verification of cards and right to work, a licence check, and swab and breathalyser drug and alcohol tests. There were also four paper theory tests covering WTD/EU Driver's hours, road signs/markings, vehicle height maths & bridge strike procedure, and one other paper about road conduct/safe driving. This was followed by a physical assessment which included vehicle checks, an introduction to the Tacho card for new passes, half coupling to a fridge trailer, trailer checks, a 20/30 minute road ride, and reversing back into the original bay. If the assessor was satisfied, there was a brief 15-20 minute interview discussing the role, summarizing work history, availability, and salary expectations, and ending with any questions from the candidate. Overall, it was a very straightforward and practical process, with unlimited free coffees available.

The first step was a video interview where they asked general things like why I want the job and what my motivations are. Then there was an assessment centre. For that, I had to prepare and give a presentation about upcoming industry changes and how technology could help us adapt. I did a lot of research and the presentation went really well, it was about 5-10 minutes long and the content was key. After that, I had a regular interview with the manager, which was about 45 minutes and they asked general questions, like how I handle setbacks. Finally, there was a group activity that involved some math and some hands-on work.

The interview process was really easy, and they were professional and proactive. They worked around my schedule for timings and were flexible about the location. I ended up working with the business for 18 months and learned a lot. I'd definitely recommend them to anyone.

The process for this job involved a math test, a drug test, and watching some videos about health and safety, how to handle stuff correctly, and being aware in the warehouse, like watching out for forklifts.
