First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at CSU Global.
Admissions Officer
It started with a recorded online interview, which was quick and pretty low-pressure even though I had to record myself. The questions were fine, and I got two tries to record my answer. After that, there was a panel interview with some of the current staff.
No confirmed questions were included in this interview report.
Enrollment Counselor
It started off normally with a screening call from HR, then we moved on to a mock interview. They give you resources to get ready, but it's still stressful without actual training. After that, there was a panel interview that lasted an hour where they wanted to know more about my background and how I'd handle different situations. Before the panel interview, I also had to complete a mock email response and an online assessment. Finally, there was a short 15-30 minute video interview with the Director. Overall, it was a really nice experience until the very end. They said I'd hear back by a certain date, but after 24 hours passed, I emailed to check in and didn't get a response for over another 24 hours. Then, 6 hours after that, I got what looked like an automated email saying they had chosen another candidate. It was a really thorough process that needed a lot of prep and effort. I don't have any complaints about that part; however, the fact that it took so long for them to reply after 6 weeks of me putting in time to prepare for all these steps, only to get an automated response, was honestly super frustrating. It felt a bit disrespectful given all the time I invested.

Associate Enrollment Counselor
The hiring process is pretty thorough and can span over 5-6 weeks before you get any word back. It usually goes like this: First, you submit your application. Then, HR will get in touch to see if you're still interested. After that, there's a mock scenario call or exercise. This is followed by a panel interview with 2-3 interviewers. Next, you'll take an IQ/personality test. Finally, there's a phone interview with executive management. The mock scenario involves them sending you some info beforehand, and then someone will call you pretending to be a student while you're playing the role of an enrollment counselor. They'll ask you questions to gauge your sales skills and confidence. Make sure you really go through all the materials they send. Everything else is pretty standard interview stuff. After the last interview with the execs, they'll thank you and say a decision will be made. Honestly, the whole experience wasn't great for me. Given how long it takes, HR really needs to communicate better with candidates. I was told I'd hear back by certain dates multiple times, but never got a timely update. It's super discouraging.
- You will participate in a mock phone call, where you will act as an enrollment counselor and receive pre-call study materials about the program and school.
- Demonstrate strong sales skills during the mock call.
- Answer questions with confidence during the mock call.
Enrollment Counselor
The interview process was really thorough. CSU-Global had some past issues with hiring enrollment counselors who weren't prepared for how demanding the job is, so they've improved their process to ensure they get the right people. I had four interviews: a quick pre-qualification chat, a practice phone call, a Zoom meeting with the Director of Enrollment and a colleague, and then another Zoom meeting with the Senior Director of Enrollment Management. I was skeptical because of CSU-Global's reputation online, but they were upfront about their past problems. They stressed that admissions is fast-paced and needs the right fit, especially for remote work. They made the expectations and accountability very clear before offering the job, unlike some past interviews where the job itself wasn't well-explained, leading to bad outcomes. If I weren't already in a remote role, I would have seriously considered their offer. Everyone was sincere, proud of their work, and open. I was direct about the negative online reviews, and instead of being a deterrent, it actually earned me more respect.
- Can you share your experience working in a role that requires handling high demand and high volume?
