Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at CSC.
Consultant
I was invited for an interview the day after I applied, and the interview took place a week after my application. The interview was with a department and division manager. The atmosphere of the interview was generally positive. After an introduction, questions about my resume were asked, and information about the company and potential projects was shared. At the end of the interview, I was thanked, but without any information about the next steps. After a few weeks, another department manager contacted me, wanting to invite me for another interview. However, my suggested dates were not responded to for weeks. After several more weeks without further feedback, I withdrew my application. Overall, the application process and the lack of and slow feedback were very disappointing. I also had to wait two months for my travel expenses to be reimbursed.
- What is your motivation to apply to CSC?
Consultant
It began with a recruiter phone screening, followed by an initial phone interview with a Partner. The process concluded with a half-day of in-person interviews at HQ, where I met with three principals. It was pretty straightforward, with no case questions, primarily behavioral. There was a few week wait to hear back for the in-person interviews, but I'm unsure if that's normal.
- Could you tell me about your strengths?
- What do you consider your weaknesses?
- Describe a situation where you were successful.
Senior Consultant
The interview process was quite disappointing. The interviewer seemed unsure about the role's requirements. While some people on the panel were knowledgeable, technical skills weren't the sole focus for these technical positions. There was a lack of coordination between HR, the recruiter, and the account manager, as well as the technical panelist. The timeline for joining was very tight; they extended an offer one day and expected immediate joining the next.
- Regarding your expected compensation, what makes you feel you can achieve that amount?
