You apply online, then do an online video interview with three questions. The formal interview is an intense assessment day for the ski season - dress business professional or you won't get the job. You can request to work at the same resort as a friend. In the morning, you do a 2-minute food presentation in front of 20 people, so make yours stand out (e.g., mention environmental accolades, unusual dietaries like lactose, gluten, and egg-free besides vegan). After that, there's a 30-minute team exercise, a 5-minute speed interview, and a 20-minute exam with basic food questions like chopping board colors and thickening soup. Lunch follows, and then 75% of the group are sent home. The successful candidates have a 30-minute individual formal interview. I heard back the next day that I got the job.

I applied online and got sent an online assessment with scenario-based questions. After finishing that, I was invited to a virtual interview. This interview started with a meet and greet with the interviewers and I had to introduce myself in front of the other candidates (7 of them). Then, I had a 1 to 1 interview with an interviewer that lasted around 20 minutes and was mostly scenario-based questions. The interviewer was kind of dull and it wasn't much of a conversation. But overall, it felt like a really thorough and well-planned process.

The interview process was straightforward, there was a writing task first and then an in-person interview, which included lots of questions about how you deal with specific situations (rather than directly about your experience). There was also a written grammar test at the in-person interview. I think they could have been more upfront about the salary and in-person working requirements (role was advertised as hybrid) to save us both a lot of wasted time.

From reading the job description it was clear what sort of person they were after and it was pretty straightforward to figure out what they were looking for with each question or task. Overall, it was a really great experience and the assessment centre was a fun day. Everyone else there was lovely and the Crystal staff were really welcoming.
