A recruiter reached out and I responded, leading to an initial phone screen. The entire process from first contact to offer took 5 weeks, mostly due to scheduling. Cruise was decisive at each step. After speaking with the hiring manager by phone, they arranged an on-site interview in San Francisco for that Friday. By the following Monday, they decided to extend an offer, and I received the written offer on Wednesday. The interview itself was a typical 5-hour event. It started with a presentation in the morning, followed by a challenging technical interview covering software architecture, development practices, and mathematical modeling. Lunch was with two engineers. In the afternoon, I met with the hiring manager again to discuss the role and business strategy. Then, a code review was conducted. Finally, I spoke with the recruiter about compensation. The company offers very competitive pay.

I applied for two jobs, and they took weeks to get back to me. When they finally did, they wanted me to interview for a different job than the ones I applied for. The interviewer asked me questions that were irrelevant to the jobs I was interested in and that I couldn't answer. At the end, they said someone would contact me, but I never heard back. It wasn't a professional way to handle candidates.
