The interview process was pretty standard. It went like this: Hiring Manager > Colleagues > Roleplay > Management > Offer. They usually gave us a few days to a week to move between each step.

I read a review from an x-employee for the same dept in which I applied. After meeting the HM, I can confirm that the x-employee’s words rang true for me. This person was condescending and rude - certainly not a person I’d want to work under. Interviews are a two-way street. I’m assessing the role, company, AND my potential manager. No smile, no welcoming disposition. A bad reflection of the company.

I was contacted by Rachel, who is a recruiter/HR person. I've interviewed with many companies recently and have been surprised by how unprofessional, rude, and unresponsive most recruiters/HR people are nowadays. For context, I used to be an HR Manager, and things weren't like this back then. So, I'm happy to share a positive review about this company and my interviewer. She was genuine, actually knew her company (unlike many others), responded quickly, was pleasant, and was upfront about the benefits. I decided to withdraw my candidacy because the offered salary was significantly lower than my current pay, but the fact that I briefly considered it speaks to my interviewer and her professionalism. Companies that haven't treated their employees well are already facing the Great Resignation, and those that mistreat candidates will also face repercussions when people stop applying and they can't fill roles. Only then will they understand the need for someone like Rachel to handle interviews, not the current staff.

After applying through a job board, I got an email to do an initial interview online. It went okay. The questions were pretty general since the HR person didn't know too much about the specifics, but they did share a lot about the company, its objectives, and the work environment.
