Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at CRU International.
Consultant
The interview process was quick, clear and efficient. It made me feel at ease. The people were friendly. I had to do a small presentation and answer questions. I had the chance to ask questions at the end.
- Can you tell me why you're interested in working at CRU and how your background aligns with the requirements of this position?
- How does your experience make you a good fit for this role?
Senior Consultant
It was a long interview process. First, there was a written test, then a screening interview, and finally a full interview. They went silent for months after that, even though I followed up a lot. Really unprofessional. I suspect they're just surveying the market for available talent instead of actively trying to hire someone. Don't waste your time if they offer you an interview.
- Prepare and deliver a presentation on a topic relevant to the role.
Consultant
HR contacted me about 2 months after I applied. The first step was to write a 90-minute report using data about an aluminium product. It seemed more about storytelling than complex data analysis. After I did the exercise, there was no follow-up or feedback, even when I emailed a month later asking for an update. The company is well-regarded, but the HR and application process seemed pretty disorganized.
- Could you write a report using the provided data on aluminium product X, which includes information on demand by sector and country?
