Met with the hiring manager for an unstructured, go-with-the-flow interview. It started with introductions and general questions about my work history. They asked some open-ended questions like how I build a model and how I ensure data quality. I've been invited to the next round.

  • Can you describe your process for building a model?

Technical Case

It started with an assessment that involved a big Excel file where I had to do an analysis. The hiring manager and head of analysis would look at it, and if I passed, I'd get an interview. After talking with the hiring manager and head of analysis, I didn't get any word back. I checked with HR and was told someone from the hiring team was on vacation. I never heard back, but I got a job at a much bigger and better top company instead (their loss). HR really needs to step up their game.
