First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at CRST, The Transportation Solution.
Leadership Development Program
I had heard of CRST from living around the area, and they came to a career fair at my college. I spoke with them, and they suggested I apply online for the program. After submitting my application, I was contacted for an interview. The interview itself took about an hour and involved 3-4 interviewers asking questions. Many of the questions were situational analysis based. I felt the questions were pretty standard, but it's important to be ready to explain the 'why' behind your actions and decisions.
- Can you tell me about a problem your manager couldn't resolve that you took charge of? What steps did you take and why?
- What makes you a good candidate for this role?
- What are some key traits that define you?
Sales
I had an HR screener, then talked to the hiring manager, followed by a panel with two VPs, and finally a peer interview. All of these were video calls, about 30-45 minutes each. After the interviews, I didn't hear back for more than 15 days. Then, on day 17, I got an email requesting a call with the hiring manager, which I confirmed, but got no reply. A week after that, HR told me they were still interviewing. The whole thing went over 65 days, and I'm not sure if I was ghosted or what happened. It was really confusing and unprofessional.
- How would you handle client issues?
- How would you handle internal issues?
Driver Manager
I got connected to this role at CRST through a former coworker who knew her old manager. Someone from the company called me the very next day for a phone chat. Then, two days later, I chatted with two ops managers, and three days after that, I met with the senior leadership team. Both interviews were pretty quick but gave me the info I needed. I ended up starting the job the week after that second meeting. Overall, getting hired was super easy. Highly recommend!
- Can you list three key elements that contribute to a positive work environment?
Administrator
I had an initial HR screening which went well. Then I met with the Hiring Manager, and that also seemed positive. The next step was supposed to be a final check with the CEO for cultural fit, which I thought went great and got good vibes. The CEO said I'd hear back by Friday, but it's Monday now and I haven't heard anything. I reached out to HR and still no response. I was ghosted without even a simple update.
- Can you describe a situation where.........
