We started with a quick phone screening. Then I had an initial interview where they were really upfront about things, though sometimes it got a bit awkward between questions. After that, I got invited to a second interview, which was similar but went into more detail. I mentioned my salary expectations, and since it was a lot more than I'm currently making, they directly asked why I expected such a significant raise, considering I told them I'm underpaid. They showed me around the office, which is honestly quite nice – very large and open. I thought I did really well and would get the job, but perhaps they treat every candidate that way.

The interview went pretty well at first, but then it took a bad turn. They advertised amazing benefits on their website, and I assumed I'd get them. The interviewer explained the benefits were only for permanent employees, not for contract positions. If I had known this upfront, I wouldn't have bothered with this company. He seemed to find it amusing that I was frustrated about being misled, given that he was covered by those benefits. I turned down their offer.

It was super chill, the people interviewing me were really nice. About a month after I applied, they got in touch for a phone interview. I felt like I totally bombed the phone part, but surprisingly, they invited me in for another interview. They asked some pretty straightforward questions. It was a good time.

The interview process was very well done. I was offered a beverage when I arrived and there was a bowl of candy on the table. I was able to meet the hiring manager as well as 2 recruiters and a member of their sales team who were all young women, like myself. The questions were appropriate and applicable, challenging but not threatening. I was nervous, as most people are, but I didn't feel uncomfortable or like I was being interrogated. It felt like a friendly conversation with 4 people who seemed nice and seemed interested in what I had to say.
