Real Estate Private Equity Analyst
We started with some networking calls, then had a first virtual interview, and finally an in-person Superday in Dallas. Culture fit is a big deal to them.
- Given 100 million dollars, how would you build your real estate portfolio?
HR Coordinator
I had a recruiter call, but then didn't hear back about next steps for weeks. There were weeks in between each step. The communication was poor, but the business itself seems good. Maybe it was just the recruiter, but they could do better at keeping candidates engaged.
- Do you have experience with HRIS systems?
Real Estate Analyst
Had a phone chat with two Analysts who asked basic behavioral stuff. Then I got invited to a super day at the awesome Dallas office. I met with over 12 real estate team folks of different seniorities. Each chat was just 15 minutes, and I met with 2-3 people at once. They didn't ask any technical questions at all, actually; sounding too technical or boring seemed to hurt more than help. After the interviews, there was a happy hour to hang out. To wrap it up, there was a team dinner with all candidates and a good chunk of the real estate team. Everyone was really nice, smart, and good-looking – and super helpful.
- Do you prefer working independently or as part of a team?
Analyst
Crow seems to recruit from Texas colleges and top 20 undergrad business schools, posting job descriptions at their career centers. If you're not from one of those schools, you'll need a referral from someone at the firm to get your resume passed along. The process involves submitting a cover letter and resume, followed by a phone interview, and then an in-person interview.
- The majority of the questions were conversational in nature.
