First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Crossroads.
Medical Receptionist
I had a phone interview that went pretty well. After that, they sent me an assessment, which I passed. Then I had an interview with the Program Director. They talked about my duties and the hours, which was a bit of a sticking point because the website said 40 hours but it was more like 35. Still, it seemed like a good place to work, and I met the staff and felt like a good fit. After the interview, I didn't hear anything, so I called the person who did the phone interview. She was really unexpectedly nasty, which was a surprise since she was nice before. I haven't heard back since.
- Can you describe how well you work with patients?
Counselor
I interviewed in August with the Program Director. It was done in the afternoon after the workday. Their hours are 5am-10am. The questions were fairly easy and she was very pleasant. Everything seemed to be going good and I was told I would receive a response within two weeks. After the two weeks, I was told the company was looking for grant money and I would be notified when the grant was placed so I could receive an offer. This should have been my warning sign. After months of seeing the job still posted on other sites and no offer, I reached out to them again for closure. The Program Director I interviewed with had gone to another location and the position was closed. I actually talked to one of the employees who told me that they were just collecting resumes since people were leaving by next year (JAN 2018). For all the pleasantries, the overall experience felt like a waste of time. Why would you collect resumes, give interviews, and potentially offer employment to then only ghost people?
- How much experience do you have in substance abuse counseling?
- Are you willing to get certified?
- What are your career goals?
Patient Ambassador Care Coordinator
The interview process consisted of two interviews, neither of which was particularly time-consuming. They were very straightforward and helpful. Hallie, who initially contacted me to schedule the interview, was very patient and incredibly helpful. She also called to offer me the job, and her voice was the sweetest and most proud I've ever heard. She sounded genuinely pleased to be offering me the position, which made me feel wonderful. I also had a second interview on Teams with another young lady who was also amazing. She smiled the entire time and quickly went through the interview questions, ensuring I heard and understood each one. She explained the job very well, so I understood the description and became very interested in the position.
- Tell me about a time you had to make a tough decision at work. Can you provide background on that situation?
Patient Access Specialist
My first interaction was a phone call with HR about the company's mission and services. They asked if I was familiar with/in support of MAT services. At the end of the phone screening, the recruiter scheduled me for an interview with my direct supervisors. The interview format was flexible: virtual or in-person. It was a little overwhelming meeting 3 different individuals virtually and having to repeat answers. Overall, it was a positive experience. They got back to me with a job offer within a few days.
- How do you handle changes?
- Can you share an instance where you had a conflict with a coworker?
- What is something not mentioned on your resume?
