The process was pretty straightforward but took a while. It started with a cognitive assessment on their website, followed by three English assessments on a glitchy site that had trouble with voice recognition, often falsely reporting headset issues (a workaround was to use the computer's mic). Next was a 'real work assessment' where I had to record a video using a specific app they made me download, which was then difficult to uninstall. After submitting this, someone reviewed my application, and within two days, I was supposedly moving to the interview stage. However, they spent over a week trying to find an interviewer. Getting impatient, I used the 'Need Help?' link on their website. A few hours later, I received an email stating my application was unsuccessful. It felt like a complete waste of time for every step, showing no respect for the effort involved. There was no way to contact anyone directly.

I did well on the first CCAT and passed the interview, so I went through the hiring process. Then I took a second proctored CCAT and didn't do well. Because of that, I'm no longer allowed to work for Crossover. I think it's unreasonable to require applicants to go through so much work and take tests twice. An aptitude test shouldn't be required for a customer service job. If all companies did this, they'd have a hard time finding employees. My work background is much more than what the job I applied for needs, but because I was anxious and didn't pass the second CCAT, I'm considered 'unfit'. That's nonsense!

The interview was really extensive, with 5 rounds of online tests and 3 rounds of video calls using their own tool. I really enjoyed it and was happy to get an offer and an invite to their remote camp university. The last 3 video rounds gave me a good sense of the skills and level of the support team leaders. With 7 years of experience, I've never seen such a thorough process. They really invest time in finding the best fit.
