This interview experience at Crossover was one of the worst I've had in my job search. The Cognitive Aptitude Test they used measured irrelevant skills and was demeaning and disrespectful. It included fifth-grade math questions, random vocabulary quizzes, and puzzle/pattern questions that are inaccessible to visually disabled individuals. Despite having the qualifications, including a Masters degree from an Ivy League school and over six years of remote customer success experience, the test was almost impossible to complete. I found the process insulting and almost traumatizing due to its irrelevance and inaccessibility, and I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone.

This whole company seems like a scam and a total waste of time. Based on my years of experience, the interview questions were totally off and irrelevant to the actual job. They felt more like a cheap online IQ test than a real assessment of skills or competencies. It felt like it was set up to make you fail, so don't overthink it. What you get for your time is a flood of rejection emails, over and over. Seriously, I'm still getting 'rejection' emails generated by a system for a job I applied for a year ago. And since they're 'no-reply' emails, you have to mark them as spam to make them stop. My guess is they're trying to make you feel bad about yourself, maybe pushing you to 'try again' for other jobs as if getting hired is some kind of game. After 'failing' the interview, I looked into the company and it seems like it's mainly a data-mining recruitment company. And for the few who do get through, the jobs offered are often exploitative. I wouldn't have bothered writing this, but those near-monthly rejection emails for one application from last year reminded me to share my experience with this place.

Before the interviews, I had to complete some online tasks like questionnaires, assessments, and actual work tasks. You had to get a certain score to move on. After passing all those, I was invited to start the interview part, which was a Zoom call to see if I was a good fit for the job and the company culture.

  • Could you do a role-play demonstrating your understanding of a product or service you know well, highlighting its advantages and features, and addressing common concerns?
