First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at CrossFirst Bank.
Analyst
The interview process was very streamlined. I had a first round interview over the phone, and then went in for a second round at the office. It wasn't too difficult; we just talked about my previous work experience.
- Can you describe your process for analyzing a C&I deal from a credit perspective?
Personal Banker
The interview process was straightforward and efficient. I was asked good questions, and the staff were very welcoming. It was a standard interview with two managers, and I felt comfortable throughout. The HR recruiter was also very pleasant and helpful.
- Can you tell me about a skill you are presently developing?
Documentation Specialist
I first had a phone chat with HR, then I met with the hiring manager, and after that, I had separate interviews with two other folks on the same day. The interviews went okay, no trick questions, mostly just behavioral and "tell me about a time" type questions. About a week later, they let me know I didn't get the job. They did say they liked me and would keep me in mind for other positions.
- What are your thoughts on routine work?
- Do you find routine tasks bothersome?
Portfolio Manager
The interview process happened over three weeks. It started with a recruiter phone screen, then an in-person interview with the credit underwriting manager. After that, there was a panel interview with five people from different roles. The recruiter and the Private Banking point person weren't very considerate of my time. For the first interview, I went to the wrong address because I was told to meet at a coffee shop, but the interview was actually at their office in Frisco. They tried to schedule a fourth in-person meeting with another credit officer and private banker. When I told the recruiter I couldn't make a fourth meeting because of my current job and having already met with seven people, the recruiter said they weren't interested anymore because I seemed 'frustrated' with the process. I'd suggest avoiding this bank and looking for an employer who respects your time.
- Technical questions relevant to the role.
- Situational questions.
- Questions about personal interactions with others.
