The online interview was about 30 minutes long. The person interviewing me asked the typical questions and wanted to know about my past work. Then, they presented me with some case study type questions, and I think I might have been too nervous.

I applied online and didn't get a response, so I reached out to HR to get things started. They scheduled a call within a few days. On the first call, they asked when I moved to a certain job. I felt like they were trying to determine my age and that if I didn't answer, I wouldn't move forward. I answered, hoping it wouldn't hurt my chances. The HR person laughed, finding it funny that my two decades of experience were being questioned. They said they'd get back to me, but I didn't hear anything. When I followed up, I was told they were proceeding with other candidates. This experience made me feel like the organization isn't serious about supporting its patient population, even though they ask for donations. I've been researching, marketing, and publishing in this area for years and have seen firsthand how poorly run online health groups, often managed by non-experts, can be predatory to patients seeking help. It's disappointing that an organization like Crohn's and Colitis isn't the go-to for reliable patient info, especially given their mission. The whole situation felt sad for patients and practitioners.

I applied online and got a call about my salary requirements being too high, but I insisted they were real. They moved forward anyway. After a few weeks, I had an initial phone screen. Then an in-person interview was set up, but the scheduling was really tight with only 48 hours notice for dates and times, and I couldn't make it. I agreed to another time, but HR didn't confirm it quickly enough, so I wasn't sure if the interviewer would be expecting me or even where to go. Another interview was scheduled, and just as I was paying for parking, it got canceled. A further interview was arranged, but the office was cramped and messy. The interview itself felt disorganized, maybe because it had to be in the ED's office due to space constraints. Not everyone fit, so I met with three people, two at a time. I got the sense that this position had high turnover and maybe unrealistic expectations. They also mentioned that despite the role involving meeting sponsors and donors, I'd be stuck in the office most of the time. Honestly, I didn't see any available workspace, just a table in the main room since the few desks were already taken.

The whole interview process took about 3 weeks, and I had 5 virtual interviews in total. They were all nice and gave me a lot of info. The questions were pretty standard, nothing too crazy or difficult, which was a relief. What really impressed me was how fast they followed up after each interview via email. Overall, it was a really good interview experience, one of the best I've had.
