First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at CRISP.
Software Engineer
A super long interview process, honestly, not really needed. First, there was an online quiz about recognizing brand damage, which was pretty straightforward, just needed common sense. Then, an interview with the hiring manager, which was basically just another CV sift. After that, I interviewed with two junior developers. They weren't very friendly and wanted exact, word-for-word definitions for their answers. They didn't give any feedback and asked very open-ended questions. Finally, there was an interview with engineering managers where they asked about my background and why I want to work there. Glad I declined the offer though; Crisp is generally seen as a temporary stop-gap, and they have trouble keeping staff.
- Could you explain what abstraction is?
- Tell me about the interface changes introduced in C# 7.
- How does the garbage collector function?
Software Engineer
Applied for a role online a while back through their careers page, did the aptitude test, and that was it. There was absolutely no communication or feedback from Crisp at all to let me know how I did on the aptitude test. The test says 18/20, which makes it seem like the answers were already known. You'd think a company that's supposed to be tech-savvy would know how to automate their online process. Overall, terrible communication, and they didn't reply to my follow-up emails asking for feedback.

Software Developer
It started with a questionnaire where you had to categorize social media posts according to given definitions. If that went well, the next step was a technical test. This test included several projects, a unit test example, and a written explanation of a code snippet they provided. You get 2.5 hours for this technical test. Given the time, I thought they'd want code that followed single responsibility principles and was easy to maintain and expand. But, they're really just looking for simple, short answers, so don't spend more than an hour total on it. It's a bit confusing how this helps them assess candidates since you could easily find the simple solutions online by googling the tests. Also, there was no chance to discuss the test or explain your approach.
- Complete the social media posts categorization task.
- Complete the technical test with various projects.
- Complete the unit test example.
